1) The water meter should be installed in a place that is easy to access and read, free from exposure, freezing, pollution and mechanical damage;
2) The front end of the screw-wing water meter shall have 8~10 times the straight pipe with the nominal diameter of the water meter. Before and after the other types of water meter, there shall be a straight pipe of not less than 300mm;
3) Rotary-wing water meters and vertical screw-wing water meters should be installed horizontally; horizontal screw-wing and volumetric water meters can be installed horizontally, obliquely or vertically according to actual conditions; when vertical installation, the water flow direction must be from bottom to top;
4) For the water supply system of life, production and fire fighting, if there is only one introduction pipe, the bypass pipe should be installed around the water meter;
5) Maintenance valves shall be installed on the front and rear of the water meter and on the bypass pipe. The water meter and the rear valve shall be equipped with a water discharge device. In order to reduce the head loss and ensure the straight flow of water in the front tube of the watch, the front valve of the watch should be a gate valve. The household water meter in the house may not be provided after the watch maintenance valve and the special water discharge device;
6) Water meter wells should be protected from flooding and rain.
