What are the precautions when using the remote water meter?

Feb 10, 2019

1. The water meter should be damaged due to the impact and vibration of the surrounding environment of the installation site.

2. Flush the pipeline before installation to prevent stones, sand and other debris from entering the water meter.

3. Measures should be taken to prevent unfavorable hydraulic conditions (cavitation, surge, water hammer) from damaging the water meter.

4. In order to make the water meter work for a long time, the water meter should always be filled with water. It is recommended that the outlet faucet be more than 0.5m above the water meter.

5. The water meter should be protected from exposure and freezing, and antifreeze measures should be taken during freezing. Water surface damage should be prevented from corrosion caused by external environment.

6. It is recommended to determine the type, measurement characteristics and caliber of the water meter according to the working conditions of the water supply facility. The expected flow rate should be compatible with the Q1 to Q3 flow of the water meter.

7. Install cock or shut-off valve upstream and downstream of the water meter, and install straight pipe sections of sufficient length and the same diameter according to the requirements of U10, D5 (10DN, 5DN) to ensure accurate measurement.

8. The installation of the water meter must be based on the prompt on the dial of the water meter: the “H” mark is installed horizontally, the “V” mark is installed vertically, and the direction of the arrow on the case is consistent with the flow direction of the pipe.

9. During the long-term use of water meters, periodic verification should be carried out according to local requirements. If there are debris, rust and other deposits in the pipeline blocking the water filter network and affecting the accurate measurement, it must be recalibrated by the designated department, and the user shall not repair the water meter at will.

10. If necessary, install a filter between the upstream valve and the straight pipe section, and install a check valve between the downstream straight pipe section and the valve. When using an anti-drip meter, it is recommended to install a pipe joint with a check valve at the inlet end of the water meter and try to drain the gas in the pipe after the water meter.

11. The water meter should be protected from excessive stress caused by pipes and fittings. If necessary, install the water meter on the base or bracket. The upper and lower water pipes should be properly fixed to prevent any part from being displaced by the water thrust when the water meter is removed or the side is disconnected.
